Hasn't she got one of the foremost QCs in the country on her team....hadn't realised she was so minted.

Unless, of course, someone else is footing the bill....

Exactly. Also the Saudis could single handedly wreck the British economy if the PL disrespects them and turns the deal down. It will already be in a state through Covid 19. Imagine if the Saudis pulled there money out of trade deals.
No doubt whatsoever in my mind. This deal WILL go through. If Masters was to be a pr1ck about it, one phone call to the govt would push it through.
Its taking so long in my opinion as they are working through what could have been a problem. Its what they did at Southampton.

I emailed this letter to the PL earlier
    Dear Mr Masters,

With reference to the proposed takeover of Newcastle United, I feel the Premier League are now doing untold damage and harm to Newcastle United and it’s fans by delaying and delaying this decision. There are fans that are still paying for season tickets with no likely games, there are members of staff that are currently still on government furlough with no end in sight and no direction coming from senior figures at the club, and there are now questions about how ready Newcastle United will be for the remaining season and next season, as the current owner has basically posted the keys to the club through the letterbox so to speak, washed his hands and walked away.

It feels to us fans, like you are trying your best to delay as long as possible to find a way to reject this deal, which is strange in a time when clubs like Tottenham Hotspur are needing to borrow £175m from HM government, you would think the Premier League would need some new money and competition, especially in a time of uncertainty in the short to medium term.
I stand by my point that If this were Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal, the takeover would have already passed the tests and completed with no leaks media which seem to be coming on almost a dally basis.

We Newcastle United fans need you to help us move on from the Mike Ashley disaster as quickly as possible and try and put it behind us. All we want is a club that try's to move forward and to compete once again in the Premier League instead of being a club that is happy to finish 17th every season, surly you yourself want to see another team compete in the best League in the world?

Many thanks and I look forward to your reply.

    Kind Regards

Aye, this has become bigger than just football now.

    It's hit geo-politic level.

Which is why the Saudis won’t let it go and walk away, to much embarrassment on the world stage

It’s taking too long. Premier League are definitely looking for a way to tank the deal.

Also what pressure can the government put on the Premier League? Surely they will go public if those clowns who have cost so many lives these past 3 months try bully them. Govt are in a weak place right now.
Also is there a FIFA rule that Governments can’t get involved in Football? Am I wrong?

It would be an even bigger PR disaster For the Saudis if they pulled all their investments in U.K. It would make them look petty and other countries would becoming a trading partner with them, right when they are trying to encourage outside investment in the Kingdom.

Almost wetting yourself at the thought of it.
They'd love these thoughts on RTG.

I don’t agree with the takeover. Cry me a river all you want. I’m not going to agree with you on it. Also why do you give a flying fart what those on RTG would think.

I just think you will get more support with your hopes and dreams of Newcastle United being stuck with Ashley on there.
