Thread: Have We Been a Bit Lucky/Unlucky

  1. #11
I think a few teams below us were in better form than us hence me thinking we have had some luck to go up.

I don't think we'd have clawed 5 points back on Coventry, hence me thinking we haven't been unlucky not to be able to fight for the title.

Fact is we deserve some luck. We've been on the other end enough times with all things EFL, the most recent when we got docked 3 points for the Farrend Rawson fiasco. It was like they wanted us to go down but we shoved it up em and stayed up.

Surprised the majority so far are saying we weren't lucky but who cares.

At least this is a footy thread lol and whatever, we are in the Championship so who cares I suppose.

My friend, it doesn't bother me one jot that we might not have made it. We did and that's all that matters. I'm ecstatic and thanks for the kind remarks. Same to you.

I will say again NO. It's not our fault the season ended. We should have been champions if the season had run its cause.

    @ riley
We would have finished second, with Richard Wood pulling the team through.
Under pressure certainly however we seem to get it right at the right time.
    Leyton Orient penalty’s....
    Shrewsbury Town extra time anyone..👍

I'm not going to argue with that Frank.

Whichever way we look at it.

What a great time to be a Miller... Again!!

Using the principle of "bird in the hand" I suspect that most of us, including TS, would have taken a 2nd place final position after our last match. The league title would have not been a massive improvement on a 2nd place promotion but the prospect of going the other way and missing out would have been much worse.

So, although my guess is that we would have finished second anyway, I accept that we were fortunate to get second place without any risk

We would have won the league.
Oh and next season we will finish just below mid table.

Yes we were lucky to go up IMO as whilst not in freefall when the league was suspended, we were certainly not in good form and also missing 2 of our most influential players at that time, icky and Barlaser.
However, the league table never lies and we were 2nd on merit, and ironically if the season had restarted, I would have really fancied our chances of automatic as we had everyone back fit and again IMO we have one of the best squads in the league.
