There'll always be an England while there's a country lane, wherever there's a cottage small beside a field of grain. Red, white & blue what does it mean to you? Surely your proud, shout it aloud. There'll always be an England & England shall be free if England means as much to you as England means to me.

Land of Hope & Glory or Jerusalem would be my choice

Definitely not Jerusalem. It’s a religious song and not everyone is religious. And those feet never did walk on England’s mountains green.

You’re right it’s getting ridiculous. It won’t be long before they edit the name of Guy Gibson’s dog in the Dambusters and call it Fred.
as long as you are only putting in the correct recycling, I'd be more worried about using the term brown bin

Absolutely. It is said Blake wrote Jerusalem as a piece of satire to poke fun at the English Establishment and Church.

The first part is written as a series of 4 questions, the answer to which is 'no'.

So essentially you are getting offended by people who are easily offended? Strange one that.
As usual context is key. Are the 90000 in Twickenham singing swing low, sweet chariot because they want to make a point about slavery, or are they singing a song that creates a good atmosphere and encourages the players?? I suspect that the number of people who are offended is miniscule.

Yes Tony that’s correct but “Swing Low” also has an added attraction to rugby fans, particularly in rugby club bars because the song and lyrics come with “gestures” for each word.

And if you have any Uncle Bens rice, save it , it could become a collectors item. Oh , and Aunt Bessie too, she may be a tad too white
