Thanks for that Sota. He must have been quite handsome because I remember 2 females who had travelled from Leicester to to see him!

Nothing much wrong with your memory Lincs, Rod Jones did move on to Burnley and he was a good looking bloke., dark hair.

Only took a ‘ bird ‘ once, she was more interested in the players thighs and how ‘ fit ‘ they looked.
Relationship fizzled out when I got a Wednesday fan fixed up with her.

I remember meeting this lass in Chapeltown over 40 years or so ago and for some stupid reason I agreed to meet her in a pub on the night of a game. We hardly spoke until she then told me she was a Wednesday fan, so I legged it sharpish.
Can’t remember much about it other than it actually happened.

They get everywhere these Wednesdayites. The thought of it.

First time I took Mrs Sota (just my bird back then) to watch the Millers we were sat in the VP box at Millmoor with the well known blokes who owned the galvanising company. It was against Chesterfield and was a boring 0-0 draw. She's never been to a game since. Mind you, she is a southern softie.

Took my Mrs to see the Millers for her first ever game, when we were yoyoing between administrators. I felt I had to do my bit as I hadn’t been for years.

Usual drab game and we were losing, when I offered my sharply insightful expert analysis – we just need to keep the ball, we keep on giving it away.

Then my wife said. “ well, if those 4 players in a line over there (meaning our defenders) stood a little closer to those 4 players (midfielders) then they wouldn’t have to keep hitting the ball so far and giving the other team the ball and also they would be able to stop them when they have the ball further up the pitch”

    I never took her again
