    He had everything in his tool box to be one of the games great players. Sadly he did not have the work ethic to match it.

    He’s the epitome of you can’t make it to the very top on talent alone.
    We sold Gazza,Waddle and Beardsley and they WERE great players.

    Ben Arfa was great right in the beginning before his injury and then he had a second spell of being really good for us. So the potential was unleashed and at that time he was a class player, no doubt.

    To say he's the most talented we've let go is probably a bit far-fetched considering the fact that we let Gazza go and he was one of the greatest in the world at one point (until he also f*cked up).

    I saw all these players and compared to these Ben Arfur was just a skilful flash in the pan.
    Took the words out of my mouth Mick. All of those you list had the total work ethic every second they were on the pitch as well as an inbuilt team spirit. there aren't many today come with those attributes.
