Another one, who taught people the days of the week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Fursday, etc? Grrr.

N.B. Emphasis on the full stop.

Sorry Kettering but my daughter who teaches Year 6 reckons your punctuation is not 'spot on.'

She reckons your first comma is incorrect it should be a colon followed by a capital W and whilst not actually incorrect the comma after week would gain more marks if it was a dash.

Another one: Who taught people the days of the week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Fursday, etc? Grrr.*

I consider my punctuation to be better than average but not great especially when it comes to : and :

Trust me. I see some of the works these 11 year olds produce and it is outstanding. What concerns me is influences outside of the classroom that render such disciplines redundant later on.

I used to be absolutely perfect but I have lived in Kettering for too long; it is bound to have had an effect on me!

I'm just glad she's off my case for 5 mins.

My excuse? I went to Churchfields High School and my English teacher was Pomgo Adams. It wasn't only his lessons that stank!

An example of those 'outside influences'

Yesterday I had to activate an Amazon Prime account. Options were either 'yup' or 'nope'

Many years ago I was travelling on a North London bus and 5 'yuffs' got on and sat behind me. I recognised few of the words they were using and no way could I follow their conversation. It certainly wasn't c0ckney. Can only imagine its got much worse.
