Andy you had a lucky escape ,that was about as bad as it gets What formation we were trying to play I'm not sure . Three at the back , De Wierk at wing back looked lost , Buchanan right wing back when he only has a left foot. Marriott and Sibley never really got in the game Very poor show from the whole team only Roos came out with any credit We ended up with Wisdom up front ,think that says it all . Worrying times till we get some new players in

Today we were without Marshall, Waghorn, Bielik, Rooney and Lawrence. That’s almost half a side of first choices and there will be additions as well, possibly using some of the £10m we hope to raise on the sales of Bogle and Lowe.
    Nil desperandum!
It’s not about personnel or performance rA, it’s about style of play. Last year proved we could JUST about get away with tippy tappy against bad sides and could no way get away with it against good sides. We can forget about the largess of the ‘points’ tribunal, we will be robbing ourselves of way more than 12 points if we persist with these tactics. Even the bloody F1 was more exciting today and believe me with the current state of F1 that’s a damning indictment

Agreed credit where it’s due Roos was MOM, good shot stopping I’m not sure that part of his game has ever been in question

Clarke was terrible , slowed the play, Yes far removed from what we will see in the championship, because most teams will tear us apart
Basically we haven't got a midfield or a forward line or a wing back who can play forward
Have to agree Eddy we look a very poor squad . Nobody who can dribble past a player at all Any half decent team would have destroyed us In not sure it's that the midfield that can't play forward . I think it's the fear of losing the ball makes them all over play the simple ball all the time . Teams know what we want to do ,let us do it and just wait for the misplaced pass . That is the way Cocu makes them play

Good summary, it’s fear. I start to really worry about Cocu he seems blinkered

If I thought we weren’t getting any new players in I’d agree...but we are. That, and the fact that the five first choices I’ve already mentioned, plus Wisdom for most of the match, weren’t playing means I’m not going to join the wrist slashers before the season’s even started.
Bet Klopp didn’t have to put up with all this when they actually lost last weekend.

You're certainly being glass half full, RA, even after that non performance. Let nobody criticise you again, for always being negative.

Te Wierik wing back? How did anybody come up with that? He played as one of the 3 CDs at the back until Cocu changed to a back 4 and then you don't have a wing back.

Wasn't Clarke playing inside left midfield for the first half? I didn't think we were that bad, just need to actually put a cross in when we get the opportunity, and there were many opportunities. Too safe.

Thought Buchanan, Bird and Roos we're our best players today.
