I really felt for Gary Shaw, such a freak incident.
Morley didn't get along well with Saunders which can't have helped his form, he was my favourite player growing up. Daley had unbelievable pace but often lacked quality with the end product and Shaw as has been said was superb until his career was cut short. Generally the point being made is correct about England selection but equally when you play in a better side you tend to play better.

If only Tony Daley could have finished that one on one chance he had for England, in Sweden at Euro '92.
He burst through on goal with his pace and even Graham Taylor was thinkng "aww come on lad, put this chance away".
And he dragged it wide of course.

Indeed - just like our own Keinan Davis, excellent hold up play and decent movement, good feet, cannot finish so save his life!

We watched Statham and he was a great left back but we shouldn't overlook Sansom. He was on par with Statham (though I didn't see so much of him) and was decent for England. As said, being London based probably swung it in his favour which was irritating for us Albion fans.He didn't deserve to be dropped and wasn't.
