    I remember as a kid in the 60s/70s when watching England was like an institution. I even cried when they lost 3-2 to the Germans at Mexico '70 (incidentally, the best world cup ever).
    Now, I make a point of not watching them. Boring, predictable football played by any number of players many of who can't even begin to compete with the Bobby Moore's, the Bobby Charlton's and the Gordon Banks' of the world, who we still talk about with great fondness all these years later.
    Yep, international football is one big turn off for me and an unwelcome distraction from club football, although even that is losing some of its gloss !!

    That has a lot more appeal to me than watching the England team any day of the week.
