To be fair PW has signed a free agent player just not in the position we were led to believe it was going to be.
    Circumstances and priorities change

It's in the story I've posted but I'll also say it here. Josh Vickers signing and being named in the 25-man #rufc squad means there is now no room for the midfield target Paul Warne mentioned this morning.

Warne says we are after a midfield player but we end up signing a goalie.

Wonder if the midfielder has fecked us off / wanted too much so Warne has thought we might as well go for the goalie now.

Lol, for just over 1 hour I actually dared to think that we may sign Jackson Irvine.

1 hour. 1 dream filled, "what if", hour.

    Tic toc, tic toc,

Hang on, a tweet from Paul Davis.... .

A 3rd choice keeper released by Lincoln and who didnt warrant a contract when he trained with us in the Summer.

    Ho hum. Happy Days!

Warne has had us all on toast there. Talking about adding to the squad because of MacDonalds injury. Then adds a bloody 3rd Goalkeeper to the 25 man squad. ****ing unbelievable Man facepalming #rufc

Suspect they have had bad news on Blackman injury and need a third keeper

Tell us that then. Don’t say we are looking at a Midfielder, then sign a Goalkeeper they deemed unsuitable just a few months ago.

i get the feeling we are truly in the shyte at the moment. Lets hope we can limp along to the international break and regroup (Limp being the operative word and operate been the operative word as well for that matter)

If we were really in for Jackson Irvine we have probably just passed up our chance of not being relegated this year.

As you say Blackman must be injured but can’t go back until Jan, well he can but we can’t add to to the squad until January.
    Otherwise it doesn’t make sense.

Or one of ours is going to “leave by mutual consent” thus making him a free agent and opening up a squad slot to be filled by another free agent?

    Maybe?

Talking to a Wednesday fan about Jackson Irvine and they had a good look at him and said he was way below accepted fitness levels. He knows that because his nephew is a junior down there. So if we got him it would take over a month at least to get him match fit and who's to say we were even looking at him in the first place. Knowing what I've been told, I'm glad we haven't gone for him.

We could still look at a few free agents with a view to signing them in Jan after some outgoings.
Get them in training to have a look and get them match fit

Four defenders, three midfielders and three strikers. Goalie not required
Sorted for New Year's Day match

We are going to change the club name from RUFC to RRUC and play 15 players
