    Surely the question for VAR is ‘ was it a clear and obvious error by the referee’.

    Some people say it was a dive some say it was a penalty. Therefore it was NOT a clear and obvious error by the referee and his original decision stands?

    In cricket if the ball on replay is shown to be hitting the outside if the stumps then the decision goes with what the umpire thought in real time, and if that was not out then so be it.

    I think VAR should butt out unless it was a clear and obvious mistake by the referee.

    Stamping out cheating should be the number one priority and VAR should be used to do just that. Some players are so good a conning the ref that you can usually say that in real time it looked like a penalty. I would love to see the divers sent off, even if it was one one of ours. If I had anything to do with it the penalty for cheating would be draconian, ten match ban and three months pay as a fine.
