Crash mate, it’s all about the money made off football and they won’t be happy until a player is taken seriously ill or god forbid dies. Who will stand up then and say it’s their fault? Nobody!

Personally think it’s right to carry on as long as there is no danger to human life or long term trauma to players and staff.

Reason being the public need to be able to focus on something ! there is absolutely nothing else left to do, it’s a welcome distraction and without sport millions of people could suffer more serious mental health ?

Sport over the summer and resumption of football has been the saving of very many people stuck in lockdown. What would the likes of Grist find to whinge about.

I loved watching test series against Pakistan and West Indies and ODIs vs Aus here last summer. And the County Championship being played. We then moved on to football. First, the end of last season with players existing under servere restrictions. Shamefully our league and club ducked out while others got on with it btw.

It was hard work for many of the cricketers continually living away from home in hotels in covid bubbles. And for footballers who have lived for many months in a restricted envinronment of bubbles and continual testing.

Of course much of it is about money. Who wants to see clubs go bust due to the pandemic.

But, also, it is for our entertainment. Im thankful to them and really appreciate what they have given me.

Next 3 points could swing the season for several teams if the efl decide to stop the season and finalise it with fpp as before. Not sheff u obv
