You could try searching his name in the area in which he lived ( if anyone knows? ) as it may show his death in local death notices etc.

It’s also worth a FB search of his name as well because although it might take a bit of time you can often come across “ In Memorium” page.

you could try 192.com which you can access via facebook (i think) and it could possibly throw up a full address and phone number

You fear the worst when you see the length of time since he last posted 😢

I notice he had a friend in Stourbridge and there’s a Rowland amongst his friends with a business email address so I’ll email him tomorrow just to enquire.

Sad when decent regulars come to an end.
