I know what you're saying Roly but it can also taint memories of players. I think back to Gerry Forest and Andy Williams returning to us. Both brilliant first time of asking, very average upon their return.

It's called the Bobby Mimms effect! Can also possibly be applied to managers, RM for example?

£600k should seal the deal, now where can we find that amount of cash?

Even if we're paying 50 % of Jones wages it's still a saving and a reduction in the squad of 25.

It’s a shame we got him so late in his career and suspect to so much injury time out of the team.

Always admired him when fit to play, a good solid professional. Good luck with his future career and life.

Jones was a massive massive disappointment.

Thought he was a great signing.

Truth is e was garbage from start to finish.

Agree. Ironic and sad that he’s had such injuries when he sounds like a model pro who just wants to play.
There was a time when we could often get an experienced top pro at the back end of their career (Gow, Grealish, Varadi etc). Nowadays it rarely happens but this guy took a 90% pay cut when joining us as he just wanted to keep playing at as high a level he could. Saw too little of him but on the occasions he played i thought he played well. Also widely reported how good he’s been to have around the club with helping coach young players.
I wish him well and wish there were more like him (all be it luckier with fitness).

    Which is interesting

Played a full game and Artell thought him fit enough to go straight into the starting line up

It's true that on average championship players are more skillful but are they any fitter than your average lower league player?

Even those with poor injury records?
