If we had this manager during the close season and the players we have now at the start of the season - possibly with another 1 or 2 striker options - then I think we would be around the top 6 now.
And if you’ve watched how we have progressed against the top teams through the season then it’s clear to see.

None of the top teams have battered us - in fact they have struggled against us - only daft mistakes by us have been the difference.

If Mowatt leaves at the end of the season - and I think he will - then his position is going to be a difficult one to fill.
Does the club go for another experienced player or do we promote from within?
    That decision could cost points.

Promote from within would be the sensible thing. We have some promising midfielders at the club, they need time to be integrated in and this season would be an ideal opportunity to do that as I said on a previous post.

The top 6 sides are way above us quality wise and squad wise in all honesty Nudger. We are capable of beating anybody in this league on our day. To me we are back in the Mel Machin period where we are never going to realistically challenge but we ain't getting relegated either.

Just pointing out that a bottom six finish rather than top six is a possibility.

Conway will sell some of the current crop of decent players this summer ready to bring in the next batch to develop and Ismael will depart citing lack of ambition at the club.
Not a reight lot between Tory boy Cryne and neoliberal Conway then .

First of all Nudge Val isn't a manager , he's a HC and only has a seat at the table when it comes to recruitment , it's an important thing to understand .

Another thing to take on board is the fact the championship isn't what it once was due to the pandemic .

The league's shifted more to us financially rather than we've upped our game .

Whether it gets back to the crazy levels it once did once this thing is over is debatable .

The current owners have rode a huge wave on the back of this pandemic , make no mistake they have .

That's not good ownership that's simply having lady luck on your side and luck also runs out .

Without the pandemic this club would be in league one this season , that is pretty much a solid fact .

The events on the final night last season were off the scale , to say we were fortunate is an understatement to say the least .

That said it's offered an opportunity to progress as a championship club and as far as I'm concerned I need to see more before I'm prepared to get totally excited about all things BFC .

These owners are charlatans , chancers and gamblers who don't gamble with their own money , hedge fund managers if you will , the type of people I loath , the type of people you've voted in to power in this country if what I've read is right on bbs , which is perhaps questionable but that's where I'm at none the less .

Kicking off still playing home games at Oakwell maybe as good as it gets next season .... who knows nudge .

I welcome your impact poster status on here Nudge but that comes with retorts too and it's not personal by any means but a reaction to your words .

I sincerely hope you treat my words within the context which they are meant .
