I was often picked on at school because I wore glasses, four eyes was a common taunt, I was always able to look after myself and so would take off my glasses and get into fights.

No school bully but there were the weak or different who were picked on as must happen everywhere. I recall in my first year there was a very tall lad. He wore National Health glasses, short trousers down to his knees and what appeared very long grey socks. He was picked on mercilessly by lots of kids. I was really disturbed by this and when the mob had had their fill I would go over to the victim and try to sympathise with him. He never responded much but I hope he appreciated it in some way. Never really picked on myself but something happened one morning when I was walking in. A big flob hit me on the shoulder. I looked up and an unpleasant yob was sitting at an open window and he had gobbed on me. I was quick tempered but as he was much older and bigger there was nothing I could do unless I wanted the 5hit kicked out of me.
