He was the first AFC manager younger than me. He had some very good moments (Groningen, Rijeka, LC Semi against St.Johnstone, Parkred even though the game was dire, beating the rangers twice in the cups in Glasgow in the same season).

But tellingly, all those were a long time ago.

I wish him no ill and I genuinely think he liked it here (even if he didn’t move up). All the best to him in the future.

But now Cormack must take AFC forward positively. A new manager in the same ilk as McInnes will just increase our apathy.

Going down to Iprix to take the job, sh1tting his pants and then being rewarded with a bumper contract by Milne.

Positive - a trip to Hampden for SCF2016/17 where we have Celtic a right good run for their money. Was proud of players and fans that day and glad my son got to experience that.

Negative - when he lost his rag with that female reporter. Suggested a touch of arrogance that I hadn’t spotted before.*

*and the last 2 seasons obviously. And various other stuff.

He always seemed to think he was too good to need to use subs to run down the clock. That game at pittodrie when motherwell pipped us to 2nd always bugged me.

Any other manager would have used up his subs in the last couple of minutes to break up play and run down the clock but not our DM. Of course they go on and get a winner a minute in to added time.

Now I always remember DM hadn't used all his subs but trying to find the stats of that game I don't think he had made any subs at all in the whole game.

I was at that game too , canna remember if he used any subs but he was bad for that.

The signs of his limitations were there even then , we were odds on favorites for the Scottish cup and to finish 2nd that season after winning the league cup and we failed with both.

On the other hand , how many years credit in the bank would he have had if he did the cup double ?

To be fair, if the free kick had been taken from the right place and if that hun c@nt McLean had given the free kick for Sutton pole-axing Langfield the strategy would have worked.

That was forgotten about pretty quickly but he had been doing it all season. We could have relegated hearts at Tynecastle for a start but he sucked the life out of the same players over and over.

Don't think you can blame McInnes for that one. That hun prick McLean allowing an assault on our keeper was to blame.
