I donate platelets and they always tell me where they go. But I've had a right Faff with the Switchboard in Northern ireland. The Blood centre in Sheffield have told me to contact Northen Ireland to set up donations for plasma, as i've had Covid, I have eventually got it sorted, but it is like platting sawdust dealing with the Blood switchboard, and i missed 2 platelet donations in the process.

No tea or coffee, cold drinks if wanted with biscuits, didn't bother with biscuits, but a bloke must have had at least 6 chocalate club biscuits, the greedy chuff.

I received a e-mail & a letter about 6 weeks since, from the Blood Donors saying that, unless I gave blood before my 70th birthday in June, I would not be able to give blood again.
@Eric.......I have it on good authority that your blood is 95% alcohol from the Ring 'O' Bells and Rhino's...😆

Ps. Well done on donating your blood.

Went to give blood yesterday, arrived 4.30pm for 4.40pm appointment, checked in &
    went into the waiting area.
Then it was like a carry on film, one of male nurses pushing a wired cage trolley, full
of holdalls of blood, didn't look where he was going, he went straight into fire alarm box
on the wall, which set off the fire alarm, other nursing staff did not know this, so started
clearing us out of the donor session room at Montgomery Hall at Wath.
After finding out it was a false alarm, the alarm could not be silenced, different people
working on the alarm box & main alaarm system for the premises.
One minute saying fire brigade to be called, then said they were not coming, a bloke
came messed about with main box, but only way at first to stop the alarm ringing, he
had to stand & hold the button in.
Eventually at 5.15pm I gave blood, 5.20pm I was going out of the building, nursing
staff said what about a drink, I said I'm heading for a pint in Wetherspoons.
Sat outside with a consumption of real ale.
