Do we honestly think our freedoms will be given back to us, even when most will have had 2 jabs? as Ive said before, the vaccines were a supposed game changer. Many have took the jab to go on holiday abroad ie from May 17th according to the Governments so called road map, now we have this - British Airways are already cancelling international flights from the UK in June and July. So that May 17th kick off for holidays abroad is not gonna happen - so what will be the endpoint?

I think we just have to be patient for a few months longer ..... the vaccines are having an effect, hospitalisations are going down, COVID deaths are going down ..... main “threat” now seems to be coming from abroad ..... and finally we seem to have put in place better measures to stop people coming in without checks .... I think since Xmas we have been on the right track .... maybe since Cummings got the boot ... just need to keep patience for a few more months

Why go abroad when they’re struggling to vaccinate people FFS.

I don’t get the fascination with two weeks in Benidorm and 300 gallons of cheap pi s s.

Enjoy the U.K. this summer then go away next year.

Exactly. Last year students got the blame for spreading the virus for a new wave around September. Where did they get it from? Not the UK but from holidays in Spain, Italy etc. We shouldn’t have allowed travel last summer IMO.

Countries with hardly any Covid such as Oz and NZ still won’t let their people travel overseas.

We need to make a decision now to NOT allow travel to Europe this summer. People can then decide whether or not to book alternative holidays in this great country of ours. Show some leadership and backbone and make the decision NOW.

Yes, but that would be the sensible thing to do. I don't see much chance of that happening.

I agree Mick but America and the UAE are just as far if not further than us with their vaccinations. Sitting around a Florida pool in the heat is more appealing to me than anywhere in this country which is actually more expensive, usually with tired accommodation and the weather can be pissing down with rain. Each to their own!

I really can't see the benefits of a holiday in this country as been all over and it does nothing for me. Even Centre Parcs is a complete rip off and you are slumming it to what you could get overseas. Maybe it's me but nothing worse than staying in this country!

I agree though Europe offers little apart from educational places such as Rome with kids going with you. I just love the heat so probably biased.

I don’t see why people need to go abroad this year for a holiday. Surely when restrictions ease and everyone is able to go wherever they want in the UK, this itself would almost feel like that holiday break? I think the restrictions should only be brought in for countries that have a good level of vaccinations.

That said, it’ll be interesting to see what impact our holidays have on Europe if we are banned. But the same does apply to us, with no foreign tourism.

Never been to Florida. All that way to sit around a pool! Doesn't do it for me. Heat apart what is the attraction of the UAE?

Never been to South America and can't see it happening soon. Also lots of Asian countries on my list.

If there is one country I never tire of it has to be Italy. Got it all for me. Still as you say each to their own.

Just booked for a few nights in Es*** in mid June. That's a part of this country I don't know.

Well said, the law is the law, if you don’t like it then vote for a party with a different view and get it changed, mob rule is not democracy!
