2 reasons we won't sign him:

The first is the obvious one-fatso won't shell out.

Secondly-and I think this angle is being overlooked-Arsenal may well want to keep him; a side with Smith-rowe, Saka and Willock could do some damage.

    He's not staying.

its typical Mike Ashley/Lee Charnley short-sightedness thats screwed us over for 14 years.

No clauses in the contracts incase of relegation.
Why on earth did they not have a pre agreed fee for Willock is again laughable.

Yet they gave Carroll an extension last summer?

Arsenal may have initially wanted £20m but that will have risen by at least 50% now. Even if they do decide to sell him, other PL teams will have noticed the lads form

Even if the ownership of the club changes hands, Willock would be a great signing for us.

Arsenal will be wise to keep hold of him.

On hearing what ASM said, he WILL NOT leave before the start of next season, but, if things do not improve, he will be away next year...

Part of that improvement, step one of that improvement, should be ensuring Joe Willock will become a Newcastle player for the coming season.

What a season for Mike Ashley.

    Survival.
    No cup runs.
    No Europe.
Cheap yes man as manager (having easy ride due to covid).
    Furloughed staff.
    Possible failed takeover bonus coming.
And now: wonderful loan player who was instrumental in survival who there is now no pressure to fork out for.

Cherry on the cake will be a big sale of the saint.

Agreed. He cant keep up that form, and hes still not the finished article, not worth the £30 million Arsenal are supposed to be asking. Thats the price for an established proved premier league player, which hes not. At the moment hes got potential, thats all, we are getting slightly carried away here imo. And yes I know, Man Utd supposedly offered £30 million for Longstaff, but never materialised, just paper talk, coz hes nowhere near that value, and yes Willock is the better player, purely because of his goals ratio here, but that could dry up,he still needs to improve parts of his game, as does Longstaff. I dont think we will sign him, would be nice but not for that money.

    Bollocks.

Wonder which out-of-contract gems we'll pick up from one of the relegated teams?

Seems like Bruce has not ruled out Willock being here next season:

He's right that Willock has been too good. If he scored 2 or 3 less goals we'd probably sign him no problem
