Pep wouldn’t do any good with us because Lai and Co hold the purse strings. So, might as well have somebody that loves the club and won’t take any **** from the players.

    You’re talking ill informed garbage.

If unsure read up on Derek’s managerial record, first promotion in many years at St Johnstone and then kept them in the SPL.

Kept Bristol City in The Championship.

Look at his record at Aberdeen where they won their first trophy in 19 years and constantly finished top three or runners up to Celtic and did okay in the EUFA Cup.

How does all this deserve the “not a very good manager” jibes?

He turned down Sunderland whilst at Aberdeen because of loyalty and at Bristol City he refunded fans who’s had a wasted trip to an abandoned away game.

Jeez.....a decent bloke as well as a manager with a better than okay record as well as an Albion hero but clearly not up to our lofty expectations!

    🙄

    Don't disagree he's a good bloke,

But I work with an Aberdeen fan who watched them regularly and he does not rate him as a manager. You have to remember that when he was in charge of Aberdeen, Rangers had been relegated to the bottom division. Aberdeen were probably the 2nd best financed club in the SPL. He also thought his style of football was rubbish too.

    I would look elsewhere.

Actually I'm not sure he does. I've read paper talk saying we have to pay 700k to get him from Lincoln, and we're looking for an out of work manager to save on those costs.

What a mess, none of the realistic options are very inspired, I am now starting to hope for Lampard as he carries some charisma and is a draw for loan players.

My mate who makes his living by betting and on his Tipster website is also an Albion fan.

He reckons that those “in the know” are saying it’s an open secret that Wilder is the man.

We might not agree on McInnes but I think you could well be right on this one. I would prefer Lampard but he's probably the best of the rest and he's always been linked with us since leaving Sheffield.

I have finally decided that Lampard is probably the best out the bunch. He is younger, he's had experience of the Championship with Derby who played some decent stuff under him. He could hopefully poach a couple of good youngsters from Chelsea or whoever. But I doubt we would get him as there could be a couple of Premiership sides wanting a manager as in Crystal Palace and maybe Leicester if Tottenham poach Rodgers. It will probably be someone from the usual suspects.

Someone I speak to, who also reckons he's 'in the know' has told me the same thing.

I think its a matter of time before he gets announced.

His managerial record is actually amazing, I remember saying we should go after him when he was at Northampton. But Sheff Utd's recruitment this season make me very wary of his player judgement.
