... OK BFP, let me help. If you are referring to the Barnard Castle trip, that is as important as a pigeon crapping on the pitch at the City Ground. Just get over it ...

That about sums it up. I feel a lot sillier for having voted for an anti-Semitic nutter in 2017, if that helps.

    Fair point Gump.

Where I agree with Cummings is that a system that gives the public a choice between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn for PM is broken beyond repair.

Though why he decided to campaign for Johnson is a different question...

It clearly caused a shift in people's attitude, so yes, it is important.

This is the guy, Assistant to the Prime Minister (his words) who can't remember whether he attended any Cobra Meetings, but was able to give dates of when he said ............

I don't doubt that much of what he's saying is correct though.

"What I said was true but I left out the crucial part of it all and the whole thing was a total disaster," he says.

He says it was a terrible misjudgment not to explain the situation and it undermined public confidence.'

Do you still think it wasn't important?

What was the 'crucial part'. Did he actually say?

... without the explanation that there were security issues for him and his family, the trip to BC appears odd; but understandable when you know the facts.
That it appeared odd was was an excuse for the media to stir the 5 hit. It was still a relatively unimportant episode.

The reason I asked, is it was rumoured at the time on social media and in the press that DC has an Autistic son. Familiarity often being very important to individuals with Autism, hence the trip to his Parents for childcare. I've no idea if it's true or not, I just wondered if it was mentioned during his questioning.
