The reasons for various sorts of restrictions and measures were two, I believe:

    - protecting vulnerable groups
    - to see to that the capacity of the NHS was not exceeded

Vulnerable groups are ”done with” and with the vaccination rate in total in European countries the capacity issue is also ”sorted”. Hence, no further restrictions needed…

That (mostly) younger people now catch is not a reason to keep restrictions, they seldom need hospital care, and as with the vast majority of all people who catch it, they don’t get that ill.

Are you having a laugh? Less than 25 new cases across the country and many states less than a handful. International borders closed and internal state borders as soon as any cases found. Thousands of citizens still not got back into their own country and only a very few allowed into each state capital from overseas for any reason.

A strategy of zero tolerance to Covid in both NZ and Oz is meaning they have no easy way out of this and don’t seem to have a strategy to get back to normal.

Well I have booked my overseas holiday in 2 weeks time so f uck them! Rather have a luxury villa holiday in the sun than going to a UK coast which is frequented by idiots and you don’t know whether it will p iss down with rain!

On my return - will I quarantine? Did Matt Hancock follow the rules? You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand that sitting by a villa pool is safer than going to a football match with 60,000 fans!

Restrictions on travel to green traffic light areas still such as PCR tests and Boris is opening all the nightclubs! The buffoon is a complete t wat!

Morning Phil, I haven't read the Mail online in years.

I do mean YEARS by the way and even then it was only to read headlines before researching topics for myself rather than leaning on what used to amount to opinion pieces.

Skim reading that article reminded me why. Talk about written for dramatic effect. Their Doomsday scenarios regarding next spring may come to fruition...... but then again they might not.

Tune in to the Mail online tomorrow for further insights as to how water is wet, electric shocks are painful and jumping out of an aeroplane at maximum altitude will probably lead to your death...... but might not if a passing albatross is kind enough to give you a lift on it's back 😊 .
