I do believe Keith played in the first ever league cup final, between us and Aston Villa, played over 2 legs, and I seem to think both legs were played at the end of one season and the beginning of another, when after winning our home leg 2-0 we then lost 3-0 at villa. UTM

I remember a reserve game that Keith played in. Gordon Morritt, the goalkeeper who was about 6'4" was playing centre forward and scoring a few goals. He was taking a kick off with Keith Bambridge, about 5'2" stood at the side of him. Morritt towered over him and Keith reached up, held Morritt's shoulders and stood on the ball to try to look taller. He didn't come up to Morritt's chin and everbody fell about laughing.

RIP Keith great memories from a bygone age, loved his wing play, also a very good cricketer played for Wickersley, a very good bat, one less for Breck to choose from, thanks for the memories Keith.

The first full backs I remember were Silman . Pete Perry and lol Morgan. RIP Keith thanks for the memories

Yes! Lol Morgan! Thank you. I sort of recollect Silman I think... and that made Quairney and Selkirk come pinging into the old brain. Do they mean anything or have I got sunstroke??

Jock Quairney was my boyhood hero.Didn't see Selkirk.Would like to have seen him along with Tiger Warnes ,Wally Ardron and Jack Shaw. Heard great things aout them from my dad!.
