Another way to look at it is this, there are 44,000 towns in the UK. We are talking about 1 extra person for every 2 towns in the UK.

I also can't get my head around the comparison between immigration and the homeless. The homeless being homeless is not the fault or responsibility of immigrants or Afghans. It is the fault and responsibility of our Government. This comparison happens because certain types of media and Govt use this to deflect attention away from their failings.

Please let's not get too deep into Brexit, but its a great example of how this happens. For instance, I heard one woman say on the radio that they voted for it because she couldn't get a quick appointment with their local GP, and they thought all of the appointments were being taken up by 'foreigners'. Its a classic play by those in power to shift blame away from themselves onto others, ideally a more marginalised group of society. The blame that person gave was to the 'foreigners' - and not the Government or Local Authority for their failed healthcare service she experienced. Its exactly what those in power want her to do. And why she voted the way she did.

Never thought of families so good point. Still not convinced the Taliban and other terrorist groups are not one or at least in bed together as such!

I don’t disagree with Greece and Turkey building walls - where does it stop with immigrants. A record entered the U.K. on a day yesterday ( over 800 ) and Boris was the man who said he would control immigration. What a complete joke!

Whilst of course the Afghans who helped our services should be let in and given an opportunity we really can’t sustain entry with masses. Regardless of fault many who are homeless are decent people and they deserve an helping hand too - I have met many who are homeless and they need a helping hand.

I don’t think our troops should be at risk over the deadline so we do need to keep to it or the worst may happen. Nobody seems to answer the question - yes we can’t police the world and interfere in other countries but let’s say Afghanistan becomes a breeding ground again for terrorists - what do we do?

I hope to God all those who are coming in are being carefully screened for the safety of our own citizens as the Taliban are sure to plant seeds with forged documents!

There are bound to be terrorists amongst those we take in, some already fully fledged and others who have become so enraged at the way we’ve cut their country adrift that they themselves become radicalised.

You reap what you sew in life, we are going to pay a potentially high price for meddling and then dropping them like a stone.

This isn’t a good enough reason not to help the masses though.

It should serve as a very hard lesson for the future but I doubt the wisdom of future leaders not to take us down the same path.

After today’s tragic events this is not going to end well! I honestly don’t know why when there’s an opportunity we don’t take ISIS out for good ie when they were all in camps when they surrendered - why not drop a bomb on them and put it down to friendly fire and when they were in prisons in Guantanamo Bay and Kabul just execute them by firing squad or in the sparky chair!

Many say the world can’t be policed which is true but if Afghanistan becomes another breeding ground and terrorists make more attacks - what do people propose to do? Ignore it and hope this scum take up cricket instead?

Totally agree with helping all those Afghans who helped us with new opportunities in the U.K. but we can’t keep taking people in! Do you really blame Turkey and Greece for building walls? I don’t! What has Boris done with the worsening immigrants numbers arriving daily across the channel? Nothing! Why are these people not taken back to France where they should request asylum there?

Surely any help given to immigrants should be paid back when they are in work like student loans!!! As students find out - there’s no such thing called a free lunch!

It really is a crazy world when the Taliban condemn a terrorist attack, if they weren't reported to be fierce enemies of ISIS you'd almost think this has been orchestrated to legitimise them.
