    Mattock was a good signing and has served us well, doesn’t owe us anything, the problem is that Warney couldn’t see he was starting to slow down and let Purrington go leaving us with a problem
    Mattock now is just not good enough at LB and Warney needs to see that and not offer him another contract

    I didn't know Newell came from Posh, interesting. I saw him playing for Hibernian the other day on TV in a European Qualifier.... they had him playing Centre Mid! Not sure he has the legs for that. They lost 4-1.

    Our best ever signing from a local club was Johnny Quinn from Wednesday.
    I may be wrong but I seem to remember we converted him into a midfielder and he was simply outstanding for us in that role.
    "You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn".......what a player 🙂

    About ten years ago an elderly Leeds fans told me that we used to be their feeder club in the early 1970's .
    This was before my time but I don't recall ever hearing this being true.
    As he was a Leeds fan I was having none of it and said it was rubbish.
