The bottom of the barrel really is being scraped if some have reached the stage of moaning about the manager having nicknames for players. Because none of us do that in regular day to day life. He calls them these nicknames every day so they are a guarantee to slip out in interviews. When reading pre and post match thoughts from other clubs their managers often use nicknames also. Players also do this all the time when being interviewed with a fellow player rather than alone.
To try and bash PW with this is laughable.
Absolutely!
The post links to an article about what a great professional Richard Wood is (a viewpoint I totally agree with).
Instead of commenting on that point we have posters whinging about our manager using nicknames.
I find the nickname stuff a bit daft to be honest but that's footie. Nobody does it more than Neil Warnock but I don't recall him ever getting stick about it.
During the game I am sure the Majority of fans use nicknames/abbreviations/acronyms during encouragement or frustration
Shouts…
Thought that was an interesting article about the respect Paul Warne has for Richard Wood.
The OP’s comment was amusing in that it pokes gentle fun at Gru’s well known opinion of Woody.
I don’t get the negatives about using nicknames. Should Warney behave like an old style grammar school headmaster and start calling every player by his surname?
