For those of you that did read my match preview you will know that I put a lot of emphasis on what an impact Warburton has on the current Halifax team. He missed their game at Barnet through injury and they came away with a 0-0 draw. Up until the sending off yesterday Notts appeared to be well in control but that control diminished after the Halifax subs, and Warburton, as far as I'm aware had a hand in at least two of the goals.

Can someone who was there let me know if that sounds about right? I did quite a bit of scouting before this game which ended up in the preview and just wanting to see if I can take some solace from the fact my comments had some merit.
Warburton played well for sure, and his winner was a cracker, but I'm not sure I would ever say we had a great deal of control in the game. I thought they were the better team throughout, to be honest, with our goals coming from a horrible mistake from their 'keeper (albeit a fantastic finish from Ruben) and a set piece. They very much passed it out from the back as much as we did as well.

Thanks for that Jacob. Yeah I saw they liked to pass it like us, although the stuff I watched showed they had a bit more urgency in getting the ball forward. I watched a couple of hours worth of their games over the weekend and Warburton was the one who stood out for me. Cheers.

Warburton's an interesting one - exactly the kind of player I assume Notts weren't interested in signing this summer given that he's 29 and a bit of a journeyman, but is now enjoying himself at Halifax. Same as Billy Waters (who's 26), whose career trajectory was very much downwards before arriving at the Shay.
