    Sinkov,
NO goalkeeper is infallible. If that were the case no striker would ever score against them. Every conceded goals is almost certainly preventable. The quest is is the keeper quality or not given other choices around? If we do not have Pope then who going forward long term then? I've never seen a world class keeper not make a mistake.
Of course you're right Dave, no keeper is infallible, perhaps I was being too succinct. What I meant by it is that (and all this is only my opinion) Pope makes more mistakes than Tom Heaton ever did, a lot more from what I remember of Tom, and he makes too many mistakes for a Premier League and England goalkeeper. Again this is just my opinion, but it's the fact that he makes too many mistakes that has caused the top clubs to lose interest in him.

Tom Heaton total of 116 PL appearances with 28 clean sheets and 3 errors leading to goals.
Nick Pope total of 116 PL appearances with 38 clean sheets and 4 errors leading to goals.
Allison (Liverpool) total of 110 PL appearances with 49 clean sheets and 7 errors leading to goals ---not including today!

No idea about 'errors leading to goals' Sub, and what about errors that don't lead to goals, do they not matter ? My opinion is based on the number of times I've seen us concede a goal that I thought the keeper should have saved. In all the time Tom was here I can only think of two, quite honestly I've lost count with Nick, it's not a large number but it's plenty more than two.

Incidentally, did you see flavour of the month Ramsdale's humungous cock-up this afternoon, after that ill-judged rush off his line I wonder if he will still be the media darling tomorrow morning ?

Heaton and Pope have been largely responsible for our stay in the Prem in my view, both excellent ball stoppers.

    .

dont know what the fuss is about - yes, Pop made some good saves yesterday, stick a leg out, an arm, and the shots were deflected, there was no scrambling or full stretch dives etc...and if Cheesy had scored again from any other of their missed opportunities, then doubt he would have had a mention.

Stones f*cks about with a ball he received from Pope, Stones gets done and Pope got the media wrath.

Pope is best away from the media spotlight, they all hate Burnley.

In my own opinion Pope is better than any of the three Southgate prefers over Pope.

His seventy yard pass late on Saturday to Vydra was the pass of the day, did he get a mention, did he f*ck!

Can't say I was too fussed about them not throwing the ball back to Watford, it seemed to me the Watford player had stayed down feigning injury because they were under pressure in defence, to me it looked a case of one set of cheats being cheated by another set of cheats.

    So who cares, feck 'em.

I took the trip to see Arsenal a few years back when they scored the winner in extra time ... with the hand... in an offside position... I was sat at the other end but was quite sure it was handball... I would have welcomed VAR wholeheartedly right there and then...
