After last season I thought we would strengthen with 2 or 3 quality players, but instead we got Firpo and Harrison, who I've never ever been a fan off, and gave Roberts a new contract. I thought we'd be getting rid of the dead wood. Not giving them new contracts. It amazes me how Roberts manages to lose possession when there's no-one near him. His 1st touch of the game last night in passing to Firpo set the tone for the whole team and they followed. Llorentes passing was attrocious. Hopefully goal diff won't matter and I expect us to get enough points to stay up given some good fortune on the injuries front. I love Bielsa, he's brought great times to ER, but I think he's on the spectrum which affects his decision making.

Another disappointment for me was going in 3 down you'd have thought that perhaps 2nd half we'd have set our stall up to limit any further damage. Instead we were fu ckin worse and let in more.
    Some tactics.

The only positive is that the score could have been in double digits. The players should have been embarrassed to shake hands with opponents.

You have to be on your game for games like this against top quality sides.
We weren't and got hammered/humiliated and are the piss take of the Premier League.

    Not nice.

It could have been a lot worse and at times we looked like the Keystone Cops the way we defended - basic 101 errors for the first two goals.

It should be a timely wake up call to the owners that this league is hard and the only way you are safe is to continually improve/maintain the squad.

If you read between the lines in what MB has said - there is no point bringing in players unless they are an upgrade on what is there. The owners have been supportive but don’t have the funds to buy the kind of players needed in the short term which is no doubt why we have so heavily invested in the u23.

The risk is that we fall apart before they are ready and it is too late.

I don’t think many other managers would get this squad to perform in the way MB does so O would be amazed if they are thinking of sacking him but he might always walk away if the tide turns against him.

Sadly it did, and also dreamt that my credit card balance would magically reduce - oh well.
Only Arsenal / Pool / Villa next, no idea whos fit, available or what formations MB will dream up, but a reaction is needed, and some performances like, we all got to seeing last year.

Everyone smirked at me this morning at work, it was embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as some of the tackles that happened for half of city's goals, the challenges were non existent. Burnley, dare I say it, would have at least battled and shown some bottle, our lot looked like fairies, if we lose but give it our all, like we did against Chelsea, then so be it, but last night was pathetic.

Hmmm not just me then that has had some serious piss taken - We looked relegation fodder albeit against one of the best sides in Europe but like you say if the players give their all then that's all we can ask..that wasn't the case last night.

Embarrassing/Humiliating/Gutless but our brilliant fans still clapped em off at the end.

I fully expect a decent performance against the Arsenal.

Ffs. I was getting smartassed texts from half time. And they were from my own family before my ‘mates’ even started.
