So flour, even allowing for the flaws of VAR, is it more consistent, to have people give decisions on the information it provides? whether we think they are right or wrong, do we only use VAR for offsides/ penalty decisions?/ ball in or out?, corner or goal kick? Or would you, like some on here, abolish VAR and go back to allowing the referee and linesmen to give decisions based on what they see? or do you or anyone else on here have any other way they would have decisions made?
I'm not having a go at you flour I might add, and I've only mentioned you because I've used your quote, but the question is open to all. UTM
I called it in real time and reply confirmed it but the question is why didn’t var pick up on it? Yes you’re probably right about the idiots that using it, do they know the rules or is there maybe a bit of cheating going on?
Your just making excuses again 😉
Also I think I’ve calmed down a touch don’t you think? I didn’t abuse Kettle like I normally would, I also said he got the yellow card right for the foul on Victor

No worries and I’m actually pro VAR Ronners because surely better information can only assist in a good way and clears up doubt.
My point is that there have been way too many contentious decisions that make the headlines and it’s usually as a result of someone’s interpretation of the facts or vagueness of the rules rather than the facts not being presented adequately.
To try and specifically answer your question though it would be my preference to persevere with VAR for game changing decisions only.
Not goal kicks or throw ins but did it cross the goal line etc
Was it offside but the rules have to be clear. If it’s a torso in front instead of a shin pads then make a sensible decision
Happy to provide another opinion if that doesn’t really answer it. Only my view though , others can disagree
I’m sure the authorities like var because it adds a bit of excitement to the game. Since the Premiership started the game has got duller and duller with every season
Plus should they want to do so it could be used to favour the teams they want to be near the top, ie the money earners
At least with the ref you can see him and will probably know his name and reputation. With the var blokes it’s Mr Grayman hiding in some room somewhere.
Thanks for that flour, and my take on it was to try and point out that all decisions taken on someone's interpretation does mean that others might interpret it differently, which is what you were getting at I think? and is actually how it was done, with referees, before VAR was introduced, with their decision and referee's in other games, giving a slightly different interpretation, which resulted in some players getting yellow or red carded and others in different games not....sounds familiar doesn't it?
I do think that the offside rule needs looking at with VAR and I have said before that maybe they could make it so that if any part of a player is onside, even if it's your hand, then the player should be deemed onside, and would rule out a player being a toenail offside as it stands at the moment.
Or even make it that if any part of your foot is onside, then the player is deemed onside because players making runs are usually leaning forward and sometimes their feet are onside but their chest and head aren't.....just a thought. UTM
