Apartheid in Israel? Look at how Lebanon treats Palestinians.
While human rights groups claim that Israel is an apartheid state, but Palestinians living in Lebanon for decades exist in poverty unable to to obtain a citizenship.
Israel is only an excuse for Hamas and the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah. The conflict is internal. It is between Hamas, Fatah and other armed factions in other refugee camps as well. It is also a conflict between the Palestinians and rest of the Lebanese population.

Why is there a conflict? Because the developments in Lebanon are linked to a far broader phenomenon. More than 90% of the conflicts in the Muslim world are not with the external world. All of the Islamist organizations have a declared enemy: America, Israel, the West. But in the end the conflicts are between Muslims and other Muslims. Boko Haram, a-Shabab, the Taliban and most of the jihadist organizations almost exclusively murder Muslims. It is self-oppression. The murderousness is directed inward.

The Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are merely another oppressed group, like many other ethnic, tribal or religious groups across the Muslim world.

It looks as though the world is preoccupied more with the Palestinians than any other unfortunate ethnic group in the world combined. But that is only an illusion. The world isn’t really interested in them. The Palestinians only interest the world when they can point an accusatory finger at Israel. Case in point, the most oppressed group of Palestinians in the world ( UNRWA )- is the one living in Lebanon.

Some Palestinian Christians managed over the decades to obtain Lebanese citizenship. If they identify as Palestinians at all. Doing so can only hurt them. That leaves the Sunni Muslims, the majority of the Palestinian refugees. Then 56% are unemployed. They live on six dollars a day. Fifty percent do not have even minimal training to allow them to get a job. It all happened because of historic decisions that were taken by the Arab countries to deny the Palestinians citizenship.

The openly stated goal was the need to perpetuate their refugee status so that they might continue to serve as a weapon in the fight against Israel, and so never abandon their fight for the “right to return,” to facilitate Israel’s destruction. Lebanon went even further with other draconian laws that prevent the Palestinians from earning a living in a long list of professions, restricting them to living in refugee camps, and deny them access to the public school system. In clearer terms: that is apartheid for all intents and purposes.

The UN Human Rights Council has never condemned Lebanon - not even once. Human Rights Watch disseminated the libelous claim that Israel is an apartheid state, even though the conditions of the Palestinian Arabs on both sides of the Green Line are far better than those suffered by the Palestinians in Lebanon. And the refugees? They will continue to stockpile weapons in storehouses beneath mosques in Lebanon just like in Gaza. All of that is done in the context of the fight against Israel. And who pays the price? The refugees themselves. Both in Gaza and in Lebanon.
It's always the refugees who suffer Balan. We just drown ours in the English Channel.

BT, that is totally incorrect and you know it. We rescue these immigrants from the English Channel after they have ignored all safety regulations in order to make their way to our country, if they drown on the way here, it is not the fault of anyone in this country unless they are the people running the illegal show!

Not sure the Courts agree with you Supersub6.

Patel would willingly offer no assistance and would happily sink them mid-Channel...

If only. Instead of sending lifeboats out we should send a couple of gunboats out, blow them out of the water, that would resolve the problem. We're too fecking soft.

BT, so you have disproved your statement yourself ---we don't drown refugees ---far from it. The article about the French and us being sued by some bloody group for failing to rescue a boat load of people is stupid, however, they will probable milk the system and go away with lots of money because, as sinkov says "We're too fecking soft."

You illustrate a key point, Balan. We in the West do not know the whole story or see what is going on in the Middle East yet the West is quick to express opinions based, in my view, more on prejudice than fact. I am lucky to have friends in Tel Aviv who give me insights into what is happening in reality, but that does not make me an expert.

Certainly, we in the West do not have the full picture.

I think you’ll find Patel would welcome them with open arms but tell us the public she’s sorting immigration,

She’s like fog horn leg horn - I said Boy and I said boy again and again but with no
    Actual end result.

They only by pass France Germany and the rest for one reason and it’s as sub and Sinkov say we’re a soft touch here BT and it needs sorting out and quickly too.

I’ve posted many times re immigration saying that we need it to survive and we do but controlled immigration is the answer , our politicians darent address the elephant in the room because votes are votes after all and they dare not upset the public.

I’ve also posted that people in my family fought hard for this country and for me to have the life I have - we are imho opinion is though we are trying to give it away to other race religions and the like instead of embracing them - BUT also keeping our great country great as we have worked to make it.

You might recall I have met you in person mon ami, I know you want to come across on here as a disciple of the hard right, but I suspect underneath the bluster you are a warm and cuddly human being. The immigrants are people just like us, trying to squeeze the best for themselves and their families.

We have offered the use of a house we own rent free for six months, to any migrant family who gets sponsored by Bolton Council with the necessary documents to allow them to settle and prosper.

I'm a Christian, a socialist and a democrat and that's why I think these desperate souls need all the help they can get. We have an abundance of riches and property wealth in this country - let's share a bit eh?

I can make ludicrous suggestions like sending the Navy in to sink the feckers BT, because I know it won't happen, which is a shame because it would save many lives in the long term. These poor buggers are being exploited, some 30 or so have already lost their lives in the last month, it's only a matter of time before more are drowned perhaps many more, including women and children. Once it is apparent that these boats will not beat a hostile Royal Navy blockade, and will be blown out of the water should they attempt it, the crossings will cease and no more lives will be lost in the English Channel.

Maybe four immigrants would lose their lives in the initial sinking, although you'd hope they could sink the dinghy, rescue the occupants and dump them back on a French beach, but weigh that against the potential saving of hundreds of lives as these economic migrants decide it doesn't make economic sense to travel across Europe in a vain attempt to reach Treasure Island.

So you see BT, I am the warm and cuddly person you thought I was, all I want is to save lives and destroy the vile human trafficking industry at the same time, and my method would work, it already has in Australia. How are you going to do it ?
