70 million Euro's = £58.6 million which seems way too much to me

Botman is worth €30mil according to Transfermarkt.

Tripper is worth €18mil. The price quoted for him is around €30mil.

Its probably better business to pay €70mil for Botman, than €30mil for Trippier.

And we need a CB more than RB.

Botman is 21yrs. £70m for a defender with massive potential but proven ability is steep but probably not far off the mark.

Wasn't Virgil van Dijk £70 odd million? Not saying Botman is of that ilk but £60m+ is probably what you're looking to pay. John Stones was £50 million years ago so you can't expect to pay less than that.

Whether we like it or not, there will be a £20m premium on anyone we want on top of the expected January premium.

Where's the 30mil come from? Sky sports are reporting that we initially offered £10mil for him but have upped it to £12mil with add on's which I think would be a great bit of business if we get it done for that.

I think the Botman signing should be one that's pursued if we do stay up. Seems like if we want him now we will be paying way above the odds for him. Remember he's only playing in the French league. A lot of Prem defenders would look world class in that league.
I do though know of a player with Premier League experience who would do a good job for the rest of the season and wouldn't cost us the earth. He goes by the name of Florian Lejeune.
