    Lots of the great songs and theme tunes of the movies/tv already mentioned but aside the likes of Elmer Bernstein (e.g. Magnificent Seven, Hud, Great Escape), John Williams (Time Tunnel, Land of the Giants tv and Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones) and Ennio Morricone (Good the bad and the ugly, Untouchables) I have to agree with Boingy about John Barry-this man created so many classic themes Inc Bond movies, The Ipcriss File and The Persuaders tv theme and sort of combined pop music with orchestration. Love his stuff.
