And most of Europe has a history of fascism......we don't.....or didn't.

They thought they couldn't get away with it here, pandemic planning had been in place for 20 years with no lockdown, they threw the baby out with the bathwater and once they saw they could get away with it Hancock, whitty, sturgeon, the Welsh prick etc went mental with it.

Doris getting Ill opened the floodgates imho.......I don't think it will ever go back to what it was and these powers will be used in future.

Sturgeon needs them removed from her, so much easier to control 5 million than 75.

Our only hope is that Boris admits that there has been a campaign waged against the public in the attempt to deal with covid. It seems obvious that the campaign was based on a clever slogan Saving the NHS and those in the decision making circles did not think the rules applied to them.
The powers to act have helped to create the vaccines and get supplies of PPE but they are no longer required. Boris needs to explain to his troops that they are all in trouble and he thinks it is essential to return decision making to Parliament. I can't see Starmer or the Lib Dems voting against such a move and by getting the experts back in their boxes he can point to his being on the side of the voters. Saviour of our way of life.
Not happy with some of my choice of words but basic principle Boris advocates return to prepandemic political arrangements and wrong foots everyone.

Boris should not be in any position to advocate or explain anything - he needs to go and he needs to go soon.

Starmer is not exactly ‘squeaky clean’ as a photograph has very recently come to light showing Sir Keir Starmer having beer with colleagues in a Durham constituency office last May (2021) when he was up there campaigning in the Hartlepool by-election. https://www.express.co.uk/news/polit...-rule-breaking

And this means removing these powers from the devolved parliaments.

I'll say it again, I don't like Doris, he's not a leader but I do think controlling people is not his natural instinct unlike sturgeon who thinks it's her right to control and interfere in people's lives as does most of her executive.

I was next on radio Scotland phone in yesterday.....but didn't get to me on time b4 prog finished

They basically had an hour of Boris bashing....as is their want......rolled out Brian fat dab Taylor at one point.

Anyway when I spoke to the researcher she was a wee bit stunned as I said I was non plussed he had the parties as it confirmed to me that nobody in Govt really took the illness that seriously and if you had no underlying the chances of you getting really seriously ill or dying were remote and wearing masks etc a complete waste of time.

I may as well have said I wanted to eat her babies ......but but but but you can't support that.

Wuda been good to get on.

The BBC News will have a big problem if Boris Johnston resigns as Prime Minister as they will have no news to report. Their well paid journalists will have to get off their backsides and go looking for news to report.

At least the Government employees who work at Number 10 were working in their office instead of the council employees who are working from home and doing precious little work into the bargain.

Pretty harsh assumption that anyone working from home is doing 'precious little'.

I work from home and am operating very effectively completing all my work probably in quicker time because I don't have people approaching my desk constantly and distracting me. It's very easy to ignore the phone but you can't ignore someone standing beside you.

The council staff have done precious little since they started working from home. It me eight months to a building warrant granted.
