I think we need a Carlisle fan who has wide experience in negotiating at this level. So a UF new member Laffy would be my choice if he is interested, while at the same time I do not know other potential candidates

The best chance of a future for Carlisle United now would appear to be some form of co-ordinated action by the supporters with Philip Day.

The leaders of CUOSC (or Unita Fortior, or both) should make direct contact with him (if necessary via John Jackson) and discuss the possibility of working with him to remove the current owners.

If PD sees that there is enough support for such an initiative (up to CUOSC and/or UF to demonstrate this) maybe he would be interested.

The action required may well involve PD calling in his loan (and ultimately a points deduction) so timing is important.

It would also involve a dilution of the CUOSC shareholding, thereby enabling PD to have complete control.

If PD genuinely has no interest in taking over the club. maybe he could at least be persuaded to call in his loan.

That would, at least, initiate events that are likely to lead to the change of ownership so many of us crave.
