I think he's supremely talented at his art though, something of a genius but just not someone I warm to and some of hisstuff makes me cringe.

I can watch Peter Kay stuff over and over again though and it still makes me laugh every time and even though he uses some bad language he doesn't tell hateful stuff like Carr and Boyle.

Boyle does make me laugh though.
The thing they have in common is they spare no one

Jokes about the holocaust are always going to be contentious
And I get there is a difference in gypsies having regularly talking to and giving home cooked Indian food to the Romanies that regularly pull up near me on the way to dropping my daughter at school and are as honest and considerate as you could be

Whereas the other type that pulled up at our local rugby club smashed the place up and other places nearby

But do we really want to cancel him off the back of a joke, where he does hundreds in an hour long show and like I say spares no one

One of the nearest to the knuckle and risky jokes I ever heard was by an American comic after 9/11.

He was saying something along the lines of how you could tell what sort of a bloke you really were by recounting how long after the 9/11 attack it was before you had another w a n k?

He delayed for a second and then replied to his own question,

    "I was w a n k I n g whilst the second tower fell!"

There was an audible gasp in the audience.......then laughter.

I nearly spat my tea out laughing when I heard it.

Really sick joke beautifully told by that comic, I knew I should be ashamed to laugh but I did.

I draw the line at sick jokes about kids though, I guess that's hypocritical given what I will laugh at but that's my line in the sand.

That was Louis C.K. with the 9/11 joke
He’s a funny guy, but got done for ****ing off infront of people without their permission
Which seems very common these days

    I love standup

If anyone gets a chance Patrice O Neal is the best and someone who never feels anything is off the table but is bloody hilarious

Another guy who is quite raw is Anthony Jeselnik and very dead pan but funny

The first time I ever heard of those two was on the Charlie Sheen roast, about 10 years ago now. And sadly it proved to be Patrice's last public appearance.
Jeselnik now regularly does this along with Jeff Ross, Pete Davidson, and Nikki Glazer etc.
Jimmy Carr was even invited to be part of the Rob Lowe roast, and he was funny in it.

Watch elephant in the room it’s vvvvvvv funny especially birthday cake or the get upstairs Susan bit
His Roast performance was poor tbh, but he’s got so much radio stuff out there which is quite thought provoking

    Nikki Glaser is funny

Never found Carr to be funny or offensive but regardless of free speech he's crossed the line here, same with Boyle and his ridicule of the disabled - there's plenty of other material to use so just no need for it. Just as some feel they have the right to say what they like, so the same right exists for others to say what they like in response.

I get the point about watching Bernard Manning back then taking offence, he was of his time and would get nowhere if he was starting out now.

Whenever I see Carr I think of Thunderbirds. It's the same with Scott Parker. For some reason they both remind me of wooden puppets on strings.
