Whoever suggested Griff should stop selecting the fixtures (psaw?) is to blame.
Well I'm confident of doing some catching up over the coming weeks howoldboy 👍

Not that I question Griffs formula of 1st, 3rd, 5th & last games in each league Champ-Lge 2 on a normal week.

Alphabetical & statistics wise the same team may come up every week for example Walsall at home every other week..

My way on ours is not much better & have had Mrs BDB or the kids picking games at random 😀

There are no bankers or Chalkys 4 bets for both teams to score might come in & make us all some money Howoldboy 🤣

Maybe next season we should both look at a different way?

    1-3-5-Last
    2-4-6 2nd last
    3-5-7 3rd last etc…

    Just a 🤔

When Griff picked the games he used to select competitive looking fixtures.

This season there are normally at least 6 "bankers" each week.

You can tell the difference by the split of home draws and aways.

    2019/20. Homes 42% Draws 31% Aways 27%.

    2020/21. Homes 37% Draws 27% Aways 36%. (Excellent spread!!)

2021/22 to date. Homes 49% Draws 27% Aways 24%. (Heavily skewered towards home wins.)

The change was requested because at least one individual, possibly two, thought the old system gave Griff an advantage.

It didn't and in my opinion the competition was better when Griff was selecting the games.

I try to do the same say Carlisle vs Oldham for a scrap or Man City vs Burnley for the odd upset…

Have thrown out a suggestion on ours as there are 12 Saturdays and advance notice we are having a double header Easter weekend for the Fri & Mon have to be in before 3pm Friday for both…

There are 23 in our league & I am messaging at random to select games the week after this one in advance of being published the weekend if that makes sense….

    🐶 needs a rest….

Ps. Griff, don’t bother refreshing your e mails 🤣

We needed a formula because I was picking the games and won it last season. Even I was concerned that it needed to be done differently.

1-3-5-last (of the 3 p.m. kick-offs) works because in some weeks there are a limited number of games in certain leagues so low numbers work best.

I think that bd may have a point about sticking with the same numbers week in and out Griffy, the same teams do seem to regularly come out but I'm not doing a Frank and pulling you up for it but maybe a thought for next season if you do one

In preparation for my arrival at the end of the month I shall need the club to get some cows and banjos but first get some elephants and double basses.
