Even if you don't like the sport and find it boring. If you are under 50 I would highly recommend watching the Half Time show performance. As is almost always the case stunning!

Even if you aren't under 50 you will struggle not to be impressed by the setting, slickness of the performance and every throughout by the old timers#legendsofthegame

Not a question about cricket or rugby then?

Lack of understanding is one theory why people don't like it. The idea that it's a pile of sh!t is another.

In my case it's the latter, but each to their own.

Even more diverse, apparently it's about some old shinty and bandy club.

Of course one man's fishing is another man's horse racing. It's all personal preference after all.

For me it's my second favourite sport even if not fully understood by someone when it's preceded by a awesome tailgate and witnessed live with 50,000-95,000 in attendance it's quite the experience.

One of the most amazing sports events I've been to was watching the Jets play at the Metlife.
Drinks in Manhattan, then Hoboken before catching a short train ride to the tailgate party outside....incredible. Atmosphere was amazing for a regular season game, fans were friendly and seeing it in the flesh I was able to appreciate more the tactics and incredible speed every snap is played at.

As you say, It's all personal preference.....no issue with people who don't like it or understand it. I'm the same with basketball...no matter how much I try I can't get into that sport.

We are singing from the same hymn sheet rorylee. My first experience was a season opener between Eagles Vs Giants in Philly. Bar the embarrassing sunburn suffered due to too much sun, alcohol and not enough (any!!!) SPF it was a fantastic experience.

That tailgate around the stadium and atmosphere in it were great but the ones at College level in the deep south are special and on another level. Would highly recommend experiencing that more than once having seen a fair few games at big colleges in the SEC. 90,000+ for any sporting event needs to be experienced by any sports nuts out there.

I find Baseball dull and Rugby League too basic and repetitive to watch or have any interest in but I know for others it will be very different. If you don't like it, don't watch it. It really is that simple.

Exactly. It's nothing to do with tactical understanding, it's simply whether you like it or not.

So you've totally discounted a theory within an afternoon?! Impressive lol but I can't agree.

Which is fine we can 'agree to disagree'

I do however agree with your second point though, you aren't meant to love every sport. The only difference appears that some people feel the need to comment on sports they don't care about (such as Horse Racing around the Cheltenham festival, Tennis around Wimbledon time and American Football whenever the Super Bowl happens) and others don't.

Now where's a thread about Hockey? Sh!t sport for people who were no good at football at school#truestory

Even if you don't like the sport Elite and think it is sh!t. Trust me if you like fun, fantastic hospitality, good food and plenty of alcohol you would love what happens in the hours before and after the game.

I thought the game last night was excellent. LA Rams got off to a flier, then the Bengals fought back as they frequently do, and then the two defenses showed their talents until Stafford and Kupp came up with winning TD. In truth I wanted Cincinatti to win, given their amazing journey through the play-offs, but LA deserve the credit for 'gettin it done' even after OBJ got injured.

It's been a good NFL season. Even my Raiders got to the play-offs and that doesn't happen often these days!
