Sure there’s many other things you can contribute but going up against a formidable trained Russian infantrymen, would be suicidal. Although they are doing well thus far if the spetnaz are unleashed in great numbers then I fear for them. My heart is with the Ukrainians
I totally agree with you, it would be a suicide mission against a “proper” soldier and I don’t mean to sound naive and think that an older bloke like me could handle a serious weapon.

It was more to say that I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.

Even if was driving or logistics or as part of a “Resistance” unit I would have to do something.

As has been said above there are many ways to help and resist without bearing arms, feeding the front line, shuttling supplies etc or as has been done in Ukraine walk in front of a column of tanks!

I’m all for fighting against an enemy should there ever be an attack to the UK here.

How many of you would go and help the Yemenis who have faced bombings from Saudi forces? Ahem.. who supplies them the weapons to carry out those acts in the first place.

I’d doubt very much of you would help them out, but for Ukraine - yeah you’re more than willing to sign up. Have a good Monday morning all.

You make a good point/points regis80. Plenty of shareholders around the world...praying for an escalation in this conflict and others....big dividend increase on the way.....As the song says "War, whats it good for?".......shareholders, pension funds to name just two.

I’m not talking about signing up to fight in foreign lands Regis and I think you know this.

I’m talking about defending our own backyard.

    Would you?

    Yes and no.

Naturally i’d always defend and think most people would. Ask me 5 years ago, i’d be well up for it. But having a little one, it can change all that. Guess it is down to individual circumstances.

YES to defend from invasion. We are a large family littered with uniforms of one type or another.
