    Aye and going out the cup ends the 'this season could somehow turn out great' chat and brings the focus to will we survive next season...which will sharpen the minds, and maybe knives, in the boardroom...

    It would be one of those weird ironies in football if this team managed to get to a Semi Final when we are on rotten form otherwise. Even more so I’d say than 17/18 under Robinson or 02/03 when we were in administration as both those sides at players who you knew could make the difference on the day, Faddy, Moult/Main etc.

    It’s unlikely we’ll win next week but it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if we did as Hibs themselves are no great shakes and are also in poor form.

    Mediocre teams fluke it through to Hampden every so often and in a season when three quarters of the league are rotten...much like the lottery, it could be us!
