Depends which league we are in next season if I'd like us to sign Grigg permanent. If we are in championship we need someone with more quality and bit younger but I would take him in this league.

    1. Don't go bust by overspending the budget

2 If you don't understand what's wanted then reread rule1

I haven't seen a team good enough for the Championship all season at NYS.

I agree, it is experience and football nounce, I don't think he should be our main striker though, if Smith and ladapo move on we still need two more strikers as well as Grigg no matter what league we are in. I think we need an experienced CB to replace Wood as a minimum as well

Recent form Dons are the closest for me in that they can play a neat passing game in tight areas and play through from the from the back and through the midfield effectively in the way that we can't. It's the ability to control the ball and dictate play that holds best for the step up.

By contrast, at our best we could play through midfield and feed the wings but pesky managers have worked out to close down the routes and press the midfield and unfortunately in my opinion anyway, our midfield are not strong enough passers to consistently counter this, or the runners aren't savvy enough to create space to pass into, and so we end up either passing the ball around the back looking for gaps but then going long ball. I don't think long ball is the instruction, just the lack of any other options. The Dons have players that seem to be able to do both, create space and pass accurately into tight areas so look strongest to me. However, don't forget that we bowled them over in the first half recently and they struggled to cope until we got casual and punished v 10 men. But they've got a better foundation of a team that can play against better quality opposition in my opinion. I love Warney and hugely grateful to have him with us, but the patient accurate passing game isn't his thing and this may be his undoing at a higher level, together with the tight budget. But would love to see what he could do with more to spend.

Grigg was looking class before he got injured.

For our budget he's exactly the sort of signing we want for the Championship, we know he has the ability. A bad spell with Sunderland and recent injury is the only thing potentially keeping him in reach of our budget.

It's a slight gamble, but one that could massively pay off. There's no such thing as a "sure thing", but those that come close just don't have a chance of being affordable to us.
