We’ve recorded one solitary league victory in 2022 and we are almost into May. That alone should see the manager removed from his post. The fact that we managed to scrape into the top six is a damning indictment of the standard of the league and nothing to do with anything we ourselves have achieved. If I was a betting person I’d be lumping on Hibs in 7th finishing the season with more points than us in 6th.

There is just nothing about this team. Nothing. No football, no entertainment and no signs that things will improve under this current regime.

As I’ve said before we need a massive clear out at Fir Park both on and off the park.

I don’t care about spawny top six finishes, Graham Alexander needs to go and take 80% of that team with him.
    Agreed. He needs to go.

We have assembled some complete dross of professional footballers like Efford and Amaloser who are forwards and cannot even control a football on a pitch like a bowling green.

We have no discernable tactics and our midfield is garbage.

The amount of time Wright had to set himself up and score was ridiculous. Nobody was even close to him and that is indicative of our defending in general.

Kelly sold the jerseys for the 1st one and the 3rd was a pen because Mugabe isnae a RB and was easily caught on the wrong side and then lunged in.

This is almost as bad as the Malpas days. I'm having nightmares.

The team Malpas had would horse this current sorry lot. Scott McDonand, Ross McCormack, Paul Quinn, Jim Paterson, Stephen Craigan and Richie Foran were all able to offer something. This current team are just hopeless.

Those players in general aye, those players under Malpas not so much...with the exception of McDonald, just about the one bright spot that season, the rest were rotten. The transformation of Paterson (and McGarry) from May, under Malpas, to August, under McGhee, was a Clark Kent to Superman like change!

Yeah that’s what I was more meaning to be honest. That McGhee managed to transform what was largely the same group of players over one close season to transform them into a fast flowing footballing side which ended up finishing 3rd the following year showed that with the right coaching and proper management they were good players. Could you see Alexander or any replacement doing the same with this lot? Not a chance.

A part of the improvement that season was a step up in fitness. McGarry and Paterson reappeared about 20lbs lighter. The other part was they played the game at pace with fast accurate passing and Chris Porter was a good target man.

Not sure why Woolery didn't start wide right instead of Efford given his effectiveness against Sevco last time but that's the problem we have no style of play and no settled team and that's down to GA. Terrible coach.

Definitely not but tbh that summer was such a mental transformation it's not a failure if our next manager doesn't achieve something similar.

I do think a different manager could (just about) cobble together the defence with half of what we have, get Slattery back to his early season form, give more backing to Cornelius and Tierney, possibly squeeze a tune out of Woolery/Shields, get SOD back to his usual average self rather than the collapse of the last 10 months etc.

I think our current squad is largely capable of comfortable midtable anonymity and a fresh manager would - with a few additions that are obviously needed either way - hopefully get that compared to being the express train to the Championship we look like at the minute.
