Yes the Council has a say on Oakwell's use but if presented with a financial " basket case" they could be forced into agreeing the sale and demolition of the ground.

World events particularly covid has put a spanner in the works but in my view it's still a possible outcome.
I personally didn't have a problem with part of the land used for development , there's a tremendous amount of land behind the East Stand that could be used for development without any impact on the football side .

It would have made sense to use that sale or even a rental agreement with retail outfits that could have provided the club with revenue .

The council clearly smelt a rat because they wouldn't so much as speak to Chien Lee or Paul Conway on the matter and would only deal with the CEO .

As I understand it and confirmed by our Supporters Trust Chien Lee , Paul Conway and Grace Hung have absolutely zero influence at the club following Thursdays events .

They were in affect sacked by the other board members , they still hold significant stock in the club but that's all and I suspect the stock they hold will be sold sooner rather than later although to who may well be something we need to be wary of especially if they want boardroom credentials with those shares .

I firmly believe the threat of the club leaving the town or somewhere else within the borough is now lifted .

However we still face some really significant financial issues which need to be addressed as a matter of urgency .

We aren't out of the shyte by any means but the first steps to recovery began last Thursday afternoon .

Sounds like a positive move for Barnsley,as long as it is what it seems and not just window dressing.
