    My contention is Lai wants out and will do everything to reduce his losses as the club spirals downwards., There is no love lost on either side of the Lai/fans divide except that he can do what he likes and what I think he likes is not the football but getting his money back & getting out of here

    Clearly Lai is strapped for cash. Maybe he is looking for a ‘sale and leaseback’ deal on the ground ? Would generate cash for the business and (subject to contractual terms) provide longevity for the home venue.
    Who owns the ground ? (Lai himself, one of Lai’s shelf companies, or which particular WBA trading / holding company ) I seem to recollect in JP’s days the ground ownership was divested from the main trading company)

    Peace had a fantastic “business” plan and exit strategy.

    Lai had neither.
