No reason you can't have both to cater for both preferences.

If we can have designated areas it will cause less arguments than current situation of people standing in a seated areas, especially at the front of stands like away games.

It will be easier to put rail seating in to a an all seater ground, than adding seats to terraces like at Millmoor. Though do see at issue when the stands meet in a bowl design like NYS.

If there's such a demand for standing I think it would be a good marketing move to charge them more

The new standing isn't like the old standing in the sense that you could stand where you want with who you want, you'd now have to stand in a designated numbered spot which to me makes it a bit pointless. I hope we leave New York as it is.

Works fine in Germany, bring safe standing in ..not the old style terracing though.
Everyone should have a choice to sit or stand.
We live in a democracy after all.

I wonder though if the standing ticket cost more than a similarly positioned seat would the fans buy it?

I don't see any problem with a designated standing area that gives people a choice. There is plenty of seats if you want one or a standing option if not.
If you feel that the standing area will be full of pished up ****s, simply stay in the seating area.
My suggestion would be the south East corner to try to drown out some of the noise from the away fans.

I have been in a standing area in Germany a couple of years ago and it was brilliant. no one in the seating areas looked too upset with us.

I also stood at Burton last season and the fact that I was stood up was the least of the issues. We were dreadful that night.

If away ends do standing at top with seats in front then no problem but guaranteed a dickhead will still stand up in seats

Also there’s quite a few that don’t buy their tickets together but will still go and stand with their mates forcing others to move
