Your PM is a consistent liar.
He had form from his writing days.
He lied about the BREXIT and it's ramification.
And since PM he has continued.
His difference is that where other PMs always attempted to hide their deceit and lieing....he never did.
He assumed himself to be above that and was quite open about his lieing....most likely believed that his 24 million voters were like him.
The thing I find absurd about Boris is that he has lost his job for completely daft and avoidable reasons. Whatever your views on the economy, Brexit etc, these are not the reasons for his decline. A series of easily avoided mistakes and lies, shows him to be a bit thick in my opinion or as some have said, he is so arrogant, he simply believed he could tell lies without consequence. Now I am concerned who will be next PM as I don't have much faith in any of the obvious candidates.
@bilsbest....
In fairness to him he got where he got by doing what he does.
The saying a leopard doesn't change its spots....is apt.
But when the bubble we live in begins to interfere with others then it's an issue to be dealt with.
Try saying that to the families of those killed and maimed in the illegal war.
Blair was a man with a “God Complex”, my late father read Blair correctly, he said to me that Blair would want a war to help towards his legacy and to be seen as a great and powerful leader, he said this to me before Iraq even happened.
Blair was a liar and a crook, Boris was a liar.
Out of interest did you watch Alastair Campbell last night on Question Time?
The Iraq war came up, he answered they had 6 inquiries on it, exhaustive investigations and none of them said that Blair had lied.
Blair's domestic policies were fantastic, as was the economy under him. He'll always be known for the Iraq war, but he did so much good for this country.
To say Johnson isn't a crook is unbelievable. So many scandals you could almost lose count, off the top of my head, he gave his US mistress £125k grant as London Mayor. He tried to give Carrie a £100k a job in the foreign office when she was his mistress. He tried to have a £150k treehouse installed in his garden, paid for by God knows who, probably the same person who paid for his wallpaper. PPE contracts went to Tory donors on 'VIP' lanes, much of which has to be written off. And who knows what else he has siphoned off the public purse.
Blair left the country in a much better place than when he started. Johnson on the other hand, well look where we are...as I say, they are incomparable. Good riddance to the worst PM we have ever had, he should leave office immediately.
You talk about Alastair Campbell and lying in the same post, how appropriate!
Not sure Blair did have fantastic domestic policies. His version of New Labour was initially like a new broom and many welcomed it but wasn't long before many also began to see the smarm behind the charm. Yes, he did some good things such as making the Bank of England independent, reforming the House of Lords, bringing in a minimum wage and playing a big part in the Good Friday agreement but his public sector reforms such as the creation of nhs trusts and school academies were controversial the time and I believe many of the current problems within both health and education have their roots in these policies. He, like Thatcher before him, oversaw continuing deregulation of the financial sector and easier borrowing meant that many people were better off for a period under New Labour -but we all know how that ended in 2008. He -like Boris-also likes the limelight too much for my liking. As for the Iraq issue, I find it hard not to find him culpable given the search for non existent WMDs etc.
