Fantastic first half, and result. I thought a draw would have been a good result
I know we missed a hell of a lot of chances - and really no disrespect to the lads, what's the point in blowing teams away with 70% possession and 14 shots, if we cant put it in the net... there is still until Sept to source a proper number 9..
But the style of play and the transition from back to front was absolutely outstanding these lads deserve a big glass of Pepsi tonight!!

That was very impressive, at times I couldn't believe what I was seeing, was this really Burnley stringing those passes together ? The worries I had have dissipated and my relegation betting slip will takes it's place with the cut up pieces of the Grauniad in the downstairs loo.

Couldn't fault any of them, I thought Taylor was outstanding, Costelloe far more assured and mature than I was expecting, despite the misses, my only slight reservation would be about Bastien, I was expecting a bit more from him.

That was a great 90 minutes. I like what I saw some great football and some slick one touch passes. I was really pleased with the overall performance especially since we had six new players in the team.

We do however need a striker that can convert the chances we create, and I expect Vincent Kompany is full aware of this.

Although we have only played one game I am clearly looking forward to our next few games.

That was football ,not the 'hoof ball ' we had been playing last season, and it can only get better, and take note, it was Burnley out there playing a better style of football than the 'dross 'we have been seeing. Who says we can not play this modern game? Simply great to watch and enjoy. So from now on the style is there but one thing missing 'quality' before the opponents goal I can not remember 'shots' at their goal?
Being our first game ,we know we can improve on this, a few more games ,an adjustment here and there? But lets have more of Vinny's style which we have now. Oh .......and the shirts?? Beginning to like them?
In the 1950's Burnley started to play the short corner, because we were lacking height in our forward line. The short corner was done on the continent, not so in England. In the 2020's we started to play ''Vinnys way'', adopt ,imitate and improve! Where has little ol' Burnley gone?

    As we all know:
Pálinka is a traditional fruit spirit (or fruit brandy) in Eastern and Central Europe with origins in Hungary, more exactly known under several names, and invented in the Middle Ages. Protected as a geographical indication of the European Union, only fruit spirits mashed, distilled, matured and bottled in Hungary, and similar apricot spirits from four provinces of Austria can be called "pálinka", while "Tótpálinka" refers to wheat-derived beverages. Törkölypálinka, a different product in the legal sense, is a similarly protected pomace spirit that is commonly included with pálinka. While pálinka may be made of any locally grown fruit, the most common ones are plums, apricots, apples, pears, and cherries.

It should be known that C in B, shipped a few creates out, for the lads to try before the game and we know the result!!!

    Stonewall penalty not given.

Abbott would have scored the brace Costeloe missed.

Twine was unlucky when he hit the post.

70% possession, I kept thinking am I watching Citeh?

I hope somehow we can persuade Chelsea and Citeh to sell us their two players for when we hit the EPL next season.

Awesome and sinkov you can come out from behind the settee now...

My question of a couple of weeks ago - would one rather see us struggling in the PL week in and week out, or winning in the Championship - has been answered. It was entertaining, it was exciting, it was Burnley playing the opposition off the park and away from home! No defending for our lives and hoping to “nick a goal” or be on the right side of “them fine margins”.

Whilst it would be great to hold onto Cornet, last night’s performance showed that we can still be good without him. Perhaps the money, put to good use will be no bad thing. We do need to increase the options upfront.

We also dominated midfield. When was the last time that happened? Cullen was exceptional.

Playing out from the back also helped. We actually kept possession rather than lumping the ball forward only to give the ball back to the opponents. We also appear to be able to get the ball down and pass it to a teammate. Unheard of under Dyche.

Let’s see how it goes against Luton at home. Cause for much optimism.
