Congratulations Jake, now it's up to you to prove your worth, I must admit that I'm surprised about the negativity with Kayode. Brin and gru regularly pull the lad down regarding him being too lightweight but, whilst totally ignoring his work rate and closing down of opponents. Whilst I agree that as yet he is a little lightweight, that can be something to work on, and I'll also say that I would have liked him to score a few more goals, but he does get himself into good areas, gru can't have it both ways, if we are going to continue with our academy we have to persist with them and, for me anyway, JJ has got one hell of a lot of positives and the negatives can be worked on. I think this young man can go all the way.He is a tall lad with a good balanced head.He should be aimed at a league one club with a January option to bring him back. There was a lot of criticsm of the defenders at S6,he could go there giving strength to them and futher improve his own game. Then again other options may be better for this talented lad.

I agree. I don't understand why people criticise JJ. He's a young lad learning his trade and he will get stronger. He clearly has ability and a good work ethic and I'm pretty sure he will make it with us in time.
Jake Hull is another one for the future but he too will need time to develop so I hope he goes to a League 1 club on loan.
Gru bangs on about giving young players a chance but routinely criticises one of them. Sad individual.

Tbh. Watching the pre season, I thought JJ looked like he had bulked up a bit. The lads hard working and learning daily. Sadly he is not a natural goal scorer though you could argue 75% in league 1 and 2 are not

Yes cayton, the bit about his lack of goals I did mention but the lad works his socks off and constantly closes defenders down. I didn't see anything of pre season but It wouldnt surprise me if he had been put on some kind of programme to bulk up and I'm convinced the lad will be a big player for us. UTM

I agree with you about young Hull mellow, he is another one that I can see has a bright future with us, although I did think he would have made our first team squad this season, however in PW I trust, so keep working hard jake learn your trade and you have the ability to make it as a pro. UTM

Ronners & Mellow. I don't pull Kayode down I just say things as I see them. The way forward for him is to get over his injury and go out on loan be it League 1 or 2 to help build on his playing time, get fitter and stronger and only them may we see his true potential.

Far all his effort and skill, (his three touch control at Wembley and lay off to Wiles to score, was exquisite under pressure) he is just not strong or good enough for the Championship. We all have our different views on players and I respect both of yours so please don't use inappropriate words to describe my points on a player.

Yes there is a player in there but it has not reached anywhere it's potential yet and we simply cannot afford to carry passengers especially in this league. I wish the lad well with his injury and recuperation but, when he's fit then get him out on loan to help him develop as this league is far too early for him just yet. If you both think he's championship material and could do a job for us, then that's your opinion and I respect it.

NB. Apologies for my slight deviation from the original post. Congratulations to Jake, very pleased for him and yes this lad will go very far in the game if he looks after himself. Level headed, and has all the good attributes to being a good Centre Half.

I'm intrigued about which "inappropriate words" I've used? Strange 🤔

You agree in the wording Ronners used that I 'pull him down' when in fact I call that constructive feedback and a personal point of view. You used the word 'citicise' I'm not out to 'pull down or criticise any Millers player but, I will say what I believe may be the best way forward for a player and the club. This may not be received well by others. I may not always be right and others may well be, it's how we all see the game differently

As a club we seem to have more faith in “ brought in” or loaned players than we do in our home grown

It was always going to be risky playing the younger players in league 1 and that is now an even bigger factor in the Championship

JJ and Hull might have decent careers ahead of them, but probably not with us.
