About 200 household I reckon, including farms, and we’re a pretty friendly bunch so there’s a great community spirit. We have 2 pubs and a part-time shop/post office. However, part of the parish has good internet through fibre to the boxes, and the rest don’t and struggle to get 3mbps. Those householders have been quoted £20k to deliver decent speeds, a bit knocked off if they dig their own trench. Phone signals are iffy, there’s no gas, buses are non-existent and the nearest station is 4 miles away. Folk are highly dependent on fossil fuels inserted into their tanks, either vehicular or in a garden. And all the time the Government tells us to stop using fossil fuels, threatening to turn off the tap, and to buy electric vehicles. Of course here they’d have to be charged at home and most houses would have to rely on cables across a track or pavement. The Tories are relying on businesses to sort it out but they concentrate on the cities and large towns and the rural areas are hung out to dry. It’s nice living here, but it needs more thought, forward planning and money.

Hmmm,I'm not sure that I would like to live there tbh, "friendly" just means nosey to me, you get a new tv delivered and by the time that you've answered the doorbell the woman at the other end of the village knows about it,I visualise a kind of Midsummer type village really more than a Emerdale and I wouldn't want to live there,I take it that you live in the half that's got a good internet connection then griff,do you look down on the 3mbps Dingles?
